Boots (Sponsored Adoption Fee)

Meet Boots

Boots is a playful higher energy boy with a big personality and an even bigger love for play he is also very affectionate and will likely be an amazing companion for couch cuddles and mid day naps. Boots is toy-driven and loves to jump high when toys are thrown to him! Boots loves enrichment games like kongs and snuffle mats too! When he gets excited, he can jump on people and lacks manners in those moments, so continued training and structure will be essential for him to succeed. Boots has a high prey drive so should not be in a home with cats.

Boots has a great foundation. He already knows sit, down, paw, and stay and is extremely treat motivated - with his allergies, he takes his food as treats! Boots is a phenomenal walker and one of our volunteer's favourites to walk !

Boots has shown he can get along with other pups with slow proper introductions but due to his play style and his love of play -  he would do best with medium to large dogs who can match his energy and play intensity.

Boots would be best suited for a home with children aged 14 years and older. He’s looking for an active, committed adopter who is ready to provide structure, training, and plenty of physical and mental enrichment. With the right guidance, Boots will be an incredible adventure companion (he especially loves going on hikes!)

Boots is on a special diet of Royal Canin HP due to skin allergies. Boots had a large portion of his intestine removed following foreign body surgery. Boots has a sensitive stomach and adopters should be prepared that Boots may be on this special diet long term but adopters can work closely with their vet to see if there are other more cost efficient options.

Boots is prone to eating non-food items and when supervision isn’t possible, he should be crated or confined to a safe room to prevent access to items he could ingest.
